Unsaid
Drastically changed,
You stare at me and yawn,
As if nothing is the same,
And yet you remain untouched.
Glass shattered on the pavement
Glistens in the sun
As you try to explain
Why it is broken,
Why this promise you kept
Was taken back.
I blink with exhaustion
And tell myself to breathe,
For you will not listen
To any words that I can say.
The words that are in my heart
Words meant for you,
Must remain unsaid,
For your ears will not hear.
They will be whispered up above,
To the one who restores and revives,
And the glass will be made new,
Each piece in its place,
And beautiful once again.
